THEY BUILT THE WEST THE LAST OF TOMBSTONE’S CHINESE Sadly, historians neglect to give credit to our Chinese friends who help pioneer the west. Here is the story entitled “The Last of Tombstone’s Chinese” which is part of featured story THEY BUILT THE WEST from this unusual, rare and hard to find western publication that fails to give the author credit. However, this is a sympathetic and realistic effort to credit the Chinese who helped build Tombstone, Arizona. It is the story of the life of Quong Kee who couldn’t handle a six shooter but he sure could handle a frying pan – and well enough to make his restaurant the “in” spot of Tombstone. To that restaurant flocked lawmen and outlaws alike – all of them friends of Quong Kee: He was the last of the famous Chinese Colony in Tombstone. Please read this. There were many a western story published – the common ones about cowboy and Indians are listed on Ebay every day but the rarer ones like this one about a Chinese immigrant who help build Tombstone, Arizona are seldom found. Collectors treasure them and their price guide value rises every day. They are hard to find. I hunt them out cause really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest. Here’s one of ‘em. Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell. This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost. I hope you appreciate the effort. THE LAST OF TOMBSTON’S CHINESE ANCESTORS INDEXED HEREIN, CIRCA: 1850’s – 1930’s ANCESTOR’S LOCATION: CHINA, ARIZONA Folks, sooner or later - Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer's dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it’s worth all the time I spend. As a tribute to the honor of our American Indians, my indexed listings will include all Indian names mentioned in the story from this time on GENEALOGY NAMES INDEXED w * INDICATING PICTURE: ALLEN, Old Pie BOK, Gee Quong, name by which Quong Kee was known in China BRIDGES, Roland CASHMAN, Nellie, owner of Russ House Hotel * CHINA MARY, Mrs. Ah Lum CLAIRBORNE, Billy CLANTON, Billy CLUM, John COLE, Walter CURLEY BILL EARP, Wyatt GRAHAM, William Brocius KEE, Fee KEE, Quong * KEE, Tong LARRIEU, J. As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story in a rarely found and seldom read unusual and complete western magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand.
