Description: The Turkey 10 Million Lira Banknote is from the 1991-2002 series that was a direct effect of inflation caused by the Persian Gulf war. The banknote is red and 162 x 76 mm in size. Its obverse side features Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founding father of the Republic of Turkey, along with symbols of a crescent moon, a star and an artistic flame. The reverse side features cartographer Piri Reiss 1513 iteration of the world map along with an image of a globe and a sailing ship. In 2005, however, Turkey decided to drop six zeroes from its currency denominations, which means the 10-million lira note became a 10-lira note.
