Description: Cute 1940s era red woven straw boater hat with black velvet band surrounding the crown. There is also an attached veil which is damaged. I'm not sure if I have the veil situated correctly. There is a lovely swirled effect in different textures of straw as seen in the last photos. The hat is trimmed with black velvet under the brim. There is a black grosgrain ribbon around the inside with an attached label from a former local high end department store. The opening measures 19 inches. Height of crown is 1 1/4 inches and the brim measures 2 1/2 inches in front and tapers to 1 1/2 inches. The hat is in good condition but the veil is damaged.
