Description: Vintage 5 LP Lot #38 - Play-Tested Christmas Records Comments: These records were all cleaned and then fully play tested from start to finish. This is a real nice batch of records both in appearance and sound. Three of the albums still have the shrink wrap on. Condition and play-test comments appear below. All of the records play great with excellent sound reproduction. There were no skips or sticks when played. All of the album covers have been placed in new, poly outer sleeves for further protection. Following is a list of the records included with further condition and play test comments:Sandler & Young - Happy Holidays Album Twelve from True Value Hardware Stores - 1976 True Value Records - EX condition cover is still in shrink warp. Light corner wear. The record is in a printed inner sleeve in VG+ condition with a few creases and a 4 inch split on the bottom seam. The vinyl is in glossy near mint condition. When played, record surface noise was negligible and the sound quality was superb. The music sounded wonderful.The Harry Simeone Chorale - Sing We Now Of Christmas - 1959 - 20th Fox Records - Ultrasonic High Fidelity - Stereoscope recording - with the original version of "Little Drummer Boy" - The album cover looks real nice from the front with only mild wear. I gave the cover a VG grade. There is edge and corner wear including a 4 inch split on the top seam at the right and a half inch split on the bottom at the right. A half inch split is trying to form on the spine at the center but is still covered by a flap of paper. On the back there are some spots of foreign matter that I did not attempt to remove. It looks like a stray line in ink in the lower left area on the back. The white paper die cut inner sleeve appears to be original. It has some creases, yellowing and a seam split. The vinyl is in high-end VG condition. It's glossy with numerous light surfaces scuffs. The labels look great. Background record surface noise was hardly heard except for occasional light ticks which weren't too bad. These are simply amazing, beautiful recordings that sound great when reproduced by this record.18 Christmas Songs with Vocals and Orchestra By Popular Radio And Television Artists - probably an early 1950s release - Broadway Records - This beautifully aged cover ranks among my favorite all-time best Christmas album covers. I give it a VG+ grade even though there is a 4 inch split on the spine. Wear is otherwise mild. There are no significant creases. There is a little corner wear including very short starts of splits at the right edges. The record is in a replacement white paper inner sleeve. The VG+ condition record is glossy and looks great with some light surface scuffs. There are a few small, smooth vinyl pimples. You can barely see two of those at the 10 o'clock position on side A on either side of the divider between tracks 3 and 4. Those pimples produce some dull thumps during play. Otherwise, background record surface noise is minimal with a few light ticks here and there. The sound produced by this record is wonderful. I don't know who the "Popular Radio and Television Artists" might be, but the voices actually did sound half-ways familiar in a few songs.Various Artists - Montgomery Ward Presents A Christmas To Remember - 1968 - Creative Products Records - The cover is still in shrink wrap and is in EX condition. There are not any significant creases. There are some small corner dents. There is some yellowing in the white of the back side of the cover. The original die-cut white paper inner sleeve has a lot of creases, a couple of tears, some yellowing and a 1 inch split on one seam. The vinyl is in glossy near mint condition with hardly any wear. Background record surface noise is negligible and the sound of the beautiful music is wonderful.Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians - A Caroling We Go - 1980 reissue of 1966 Decca LP - MCA Records - The cover is still in shrink wrap so wear is minimal. There are no significant cover creases and corner wear is minor. There has been some yellowing of the white background. I give the cover a VG+ grade. The original paper inner sleeve has short splits on all 3 seams. The vinyl is glossy and in near mint condition with minimal wear. Background record surface noise is negligible and the record produces nearly perfect sound. I might have heard a couple of light ticks while listening, but nothing jumped out at me. I'll pack these well for safe shipping with the records tucked into the outer poly sleeves, outside of the jackets.
