Vintage Admiral 6P32-6E1N Portable Electric Tube Radio Works Estate Fresh C 1946

Description: Item up for sale is a wonderful vintage portable Admiral radio made sometime around 1946 / 1947 by the Continental Radio and Television Company. Item was plugged in and the tubes lit up and we were able to tune in several AM stations. Stations that tuned in were accompanied by static and signal interference with stations not tuning in presenting static and fuzz. While this piece does function it is far from mint condition and will need some adjustments and repairs to function and appear as intended. The plastic plug on the power cord had electrical tape covering broken areas of the plastic plug which exposes the prong so please carefully handle the cord and have a professional examine cord prior to attempted use. Handles on the top show heavy leather wear and loss and should not be used to carry the radio. Faux alligator hide exterior covering shows soiling, patina, surface wear, corners and edge wear and discoloration and will need an extensive cleaning. Interior of the radio shows a lot of dust and soiling and will need a detailed interior cleaning. Power and tuning knobs turn as they should with plastic showing soiling to surface sand grooves and will need a detail polish and cleaning. Knobs when turned show some warping so may need to be reset. Underside of the base shows heavy soiling, label wear and loss and curling to edges of surfacing. The hinge connecting the rear door to the body of the radio shows surface wear, looseness and wear to the hinge. This is hard to depict in photographs but wanted new owner to know this is an issue and rear panel should be opened and closed with care and caution so as to not tear it off. All metal hardware shows a mix of surface rust, tarnish and patina and could use a polish. Palm tree graphics on the grille are in fantastic condition. Dial cover shows no chips, cracks or breaks. Dial indicator moves as it should. Radio measures (not including handles) measures 11" top to bottom by 13-1/4" wide by 6-3/4" in depth. Amazing vintage radio that comes fresh to the market.
