Description: This is an all-bisque Nancy Ann Storybook Doll (NASB) from the 1940s. She is #156 Beauty (From Beauty and the Beast). She comes in her original, properly labeled box, with her original foil wrist tag, Nancy Ann pamphlet, and cardboard neck guard. The doll is in very good condition, and comes from the estate of her original owner. The bisque in great shape with no broken parts, no chips to the feet or elsewhere, and even coloring. The doll's face paint is lovely and all original. Her brown wig is full, uncut and in the original style with lots of wave. Her outfit is in very good condition. Beauty wears a pale pink taffeta dress flocked with ivory dots surrounded by smaller dots. Crochet lace trims her bodice and the skirt of the dress, and she has a pink fabric flower at her waist. There is an attached muslin slip under the skirt, and she wears little muslin pantalettes. The dress closes in back with a ribbon instead of a brass pin, which is how we know this particular doll was made during WWII when metal was rationed. Nancy Ann switched from pins to ribbon ties help with the war effort in the early to mid 1940s. Beauty has a teal felt "fascinator" type hat, tied with a ribbon and trimmed with a feather. Beauty's wrist tag is original to this doll; the foil band is wrapped on her left wrist. Her original box has its silver foil label on the side. The box has light blue polka dots; it is lightly soiled with age and has light marks, but is structurally sound and protects the doll well. The original Nancy Ann pamphlet in the box is the 1940s version. It is in nice condition and has no tears or writing. Nonsmoking estate collection.
