Description: Vintage Collier's Junior Classics 1962 Ed Late Print Volume 8, “Road to Greatness”. This volume includes stories about men and women who have achieved greatness during their lifetimes, often overcoming amazing odds to do so. Wonderful, inspirational collection that could be enjoyable reading for ages 9-12, or for being read to for ages 4-8. I have 4 of these books that have survived from childhood (also Volumes 2, 6, and 7 in separate auctions), this one in fairly good condition for its age. Some fraying of corners and shelf wear of hardcover, and some staining of page edges (see photos.) Internally, the front face page looks like it fell to a pair of toddler scissors at the hand of my destructo-brother (who is now 60!) Otherwise no damage that I see inside book; all pages present and binding is tight. All my books are photographed ‘as-is’; I do not use stock photos and I try to be as honest as possible about any flaws I see.
