Description: This is a vintage leather holster that will fit your Colt Single Action Army 5 1/2” nicely. The makers mark is very light in places but reads “J. K. POLK SWEETWATER TEX”. The J. K. Polk is hard to make out, but SWEETWATER, TEX is legible. There is maybe three stitches at the top that are missing. The single loop is firmly attached. Someone has put two holes at the top. Hard to find maker. The last photo is from another holster with a more clear marking. J.K. Polk’s saddlery shop was purchased by S.D. Myres in 1898. Myres used the same style marking after changing the name until he moved his saddlery shop to El Paso.
