This important event in Montblanc's history followed Swiss luxury goods group Richemont's acquisition of Fabrique d'Horlogerie Minerva SA and its exceptional watchmaking know-how.Thus, in October 2007, the Swiss luxury goods group Richemont purchased Fabrique d'Horlogerie Minerva SA and secured the existing manufacturing know-how. One of the results of this acquisition is the partnership between Minerva and Montblanc for the production of the Villeret 1858 collection. Since then, Minerva has been a department of Montblanc, the Minerva Institute for Research in the Art of Haute Horlogerie.Entering the world of watchmaking in a glamorous way, every Montblanc brand watch since then reads Minerva. For the past decade, Montblanc has been exploring Minerva's incredible heritage, finding inspiration in historical functions, mechanical codes and design, and perpetuating 160 years of uninterrupted tradition from a manufacture famous for its exceptional artisanal movements.During the quartz crisis of the 1970s, when the number of Swiss watchmakers fell from 1618 in 1970 to 632 in 1984, Minerva had the strength to survive thanks to the renowned quality of its mechanical watches and chronographs. The rare ability to manufacture its own balance wheel and hair, combined with its mastery of multiple time frequencies, has allowed Minerva to maintain its reputation for chronometric accuracy among watch professionals and lovers alike. In 2000, the Frey family sold the company to new partners led by Italian financier Emilio Gnutti. In addition to investments in infrastructure and machinery, the new organization hired new employees, reinforcing a team led by the new director, Beppe Menaldo, and a talented and respected master watchmaker, Demetrio Cabiddu, who is still technical director of the Montblanc Manufacture in Villeret today.Continuing the tradition of manufacturing high quality products, in 2003 Minerva launched four new calibres, two chronographs and two chronologicals, all manually wound. As mentioned at the beginning of the article, in October 2006, the Swiss luxury goods group Richemont purchased Fabrique d'Horlogerie Minerva SA, thus ensuring exceptional manufacturing know-how.One result of this acquisition was the partnership between Minerva and Montblanc, with Minerva becoming a department of Montblanc under the name Minerva Research Institute in Haute Horlogerie.Today, the Montblanc Manufacture in Villeret produces a complete line of watches - the Villeret 1858 Collection - inspired by the Minerva heritage, strictly respecting traditional watchmaking operations, which are largely still meticulously handcrafted. At the same time, the “Minerva Institute for Research in Haute Horlogerie” acts as a safeguard, preserving and cultivating the exceptional chronological experience while researching innovative technologies and concepts to continue enriching the art of watchmaking.Watch from my personal collection, without box or documents.Hello, dear buyer!
