Vintge Original Southwest Pueblo Listed J ARICOPA Desert SIGNED Aqua Green FRAME

Description: This beautiful original desert Southwest oil painting features a Native American approaching a pure white adobe / pueblo with a ladder on one side. The desert scene is beautifully executed in shades of aqua, ivory, pale yellow, the palest pink, taupe, and cactus green. There are desert cactus and buttes rising in the background. The medium is oil on canvas, mounted on wood, and framed. It measures 15 inches wide and is about 13 inches in height, a nice medium size that will work well in many spaces. The piece is signed "Aricopa". Jose Aricopa is a listed American artist / painter known for Southwest Native American artwork. I believe he is from Arizona, but do not know this for certain - I could not locate much about his life. I also do not know the age of this piece, but estimate it was painted in the early 1990's based on the condition of the picture and color scheme / frame style. Southwest style was hugely popular in the late '80s - 90's and the frame is typical of that era. It is high quality solid wood, painted a matte aqua green with a whitewash finish. It includes a linen border with an aqua inner rim. The painting is in excellent condition, with no visible stains, tears, or holes. The frame has some very minimal normal wear, but no significant scratches, scuffs or gouges. The linen border is relatively clean with very minimal almost invisible age-related discoloration (see photos). The wooden mounting is very secure, tight and intact. It's simply a lovely, original piece of art for any lover of the American Southwest desert.
