Marked Smithsonian by Avon on the underside. 1996. Juliette Gordon Low is best known as the founder of the Girl Scouts of America. In her formal portrait in the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery she wears three swallow brooches. In her honor Avon created this lovely swallow brooch paveed with Austrian crystals and embellished with a simulated sapphire eye. Brooch measures 1.25" length X 1.25" height X 0.25" depth. Very good preowned condition. Unboxed. No missing stones with blue eye crystal intact. Clasp functions well. Minor scuffs from prior use & age. Very pretty! Great gift for a girl scout!
