Description: This vintage Toikka bird is rare! A true "find" for your collection. The iittala Oiva Toikka Yellow Grouse is not shy about its enthusiasm for spring, sporting a shining, sunlit complexion and proud, perky posture. Its plumage is handcrafted from a highly reflective glass, picking up the pigment and movement of its surroundings to put on a shimmering light show... While these flashy feathers are sharply defined around the breast, they gradually become a blur of windswept lines as they reach down to the wide, flat tail. This stunning technique further illustrates Yellow Grouse's lively energy and eagerness to fly. The bird's slender head boasts the same mirrored quality and sits gracefully atop a tall, alert neck. The iittala Toikka Yellow Grouse will make a dazzling addition to your own family of these unique, individually mouth-blown birds. Artist's signature incised on bottom, original iittala sticker intact. Condition: excellent estate quality condition. No chips, cracks, or scratches. Wear consistent with age however I don't see evidence of wear. Looks like it sat on a shelf for 10+ years! Dimensions: Length: 7-1/2" Width: 4" Height: 5-1/2" (19 x 10 x 14 cm) I pack all my items with generous bubble wrap and double box if needed.
