Description: Antique Wedgewood Apartment Gas Stove - Restoration Project This Classic Vintage Wedgewood Stove is in mostly good vintage condition. It looks like it has all the parts to function. It features four cast iron burners, an oven, a cook chart inside the oven door, and a broiler. The burner heads are in good condition. This Wedgewood Antique Stove has been in storage in a heated garage for many long years. I cleaned it as best I could. It took me 12 hours to do. Functionality: I have not tested this stove and can not confirm if it is in working condition. It is being sold as-is. Potential repairs and restoration are the responsibility of the buyer. After I got it all cleaned up It looks like it may be not too challenging to achieve restoration and functionality. Functionality update May 21, 2024: I have lowered the price because the oven knob is stuck and will not turn. It appears to need the thermostat repaired or rebuilt. This could cost up to approximately 300.00. I found a local company in Centralia who does this work and or has parts available. Condition Positives: The outside of the stove looks very good with a few spots where the porcelain is chipped off. The knobs are in fantastic condition, The crumb drawers are in excellent vintage condition. The broiler drawer is in very good condition with a few surface rust spots. The enamel on the tray in the broiler drawer has an area on the middle surface that needs restoration. The cast iron burners are in very good condition, burners are in good condition and may be functional as they are. The top inside enamel is in fairly good shape. There is some surface rust on the interior parts and along the top sides under where the top joins the bottom. Condition Negatives: The two springs for the oven door need to be replaced or fixed. The hooks on one end of each spring have broken off. The burner trays are cleaned up and are functional. The top surface of the burner trays are in fair condition. The bottom of the burner trays are cleaned as best I could without damaging the enamel. The oven needs some restoration. The enamel “tabs” that hold the oven grates on have surface rust on them. In the lower part of the oven the enamel strips that hold the oven bottom on need to be replaced. These have rusted through on their ends close to the oven door. This area looks to be the most challenging part of the restoration. The oven bottom (tray) is in good shape except on the top in the middle there is an area where the enamel surface needs restoring. There is surface rust on the back and underneath the stove. The bottom of the oven where the broiler drawer is there is surface rust. This rust can be cleaned and restored with some effort and expertise. There is only one oven grate. There is no broiler pan. This stove can be converted from gas to propane. While researching this Antique Wedgewood Stove I found several places that have parts and restore them.
