This example has the front wappen which retains all the original mercury-gilding with polished high and low areas such as the feathers to add contrast to the gilding. The wappen is of highest quality and private purchase pattern (screw post retainers) and the crown is voided. To accommodate a Haarbush, the tall kugel (ball top) is removable. Note the M1871 patterned rounded pearlring, which was used by all cavalry regiments and a private purchase option often seen of artillery helmets. This example has the officer’s helmet rear spine. Brass star retainers on the rounded spike base with flat chinscales and a set of Officer cockades. EM style front visor trim. No extra holes on the helmet body. The liner of this example is of the leather sweatband which shows some wear and tear and missing the silk skull-cap. The underside of the visors, have green and red backing which is proper for officers only. Maker’s adhesive sticker is inside the helmet skull that states OEKONOMIE with some other details (see photo). I am clearing out my collection to make space for new purchases.
