Description: A photo found with a group of instructional photos from the AAFNS in Hondo, Texas during WW2. I am guessing it is from there because it is not stamped on the back but there are similar pictures in the group that are and this is obviously from that set. This one is a copy stamped from the RCAF. It was probably a part of their training program during the British Commonwealth Air Training Program (BCATP), which was Canada's largest contribution to the war effort during WW2. It appears to be a display showing an airman in full gear, and I think that on the wall on the left are some survival tools. This is part of a large set of dioramas in the facility, each with the intention of instructing the crew on methods and local knowledge, I presume in the unfortunate event that they are shot down. I am not sure why this would be in the group other than it just came with the other photos from Canada to Hondo as part of the group. AAFNS was the Army Air Force Navigational School at Hondo Air Base during WW2. They trained bomber and transport navigators. On the back you see the official stamp of the RCAF: RCAF Photograph Crown Copyright Negative EN No. 990B Unit___ A very rare and unique photo.
