Description: WWII 88th Infantry Div. Grouping From Italy This small grouping of material came together, and not knowing if they are linked to each other, I decided to list them together. The group consists of a photograph of a tech corporal (Technician 5th grade) with 5th Army patch, and taken in 1945. No true ID. An issue waist belt buckle with 88th Infantry Division insignia, painted in red representing usage by one of the division artillerymen, and a souvenir medal from Naples. The photo is approximately post card size, has a sentiment on the bottom of both sides, and in good condition. The brass plating on the face of the buckle, has been cleaned off completely smooth with the red insignia painted on. No ID on this piece. And finally, a table medal of Mt. Vesuvius ( as viewed from Naples) dated 1944. The medal is 68mm and appears to be made of iron. Volcanic clouds of ash, stream out of the mountain, with names in Italian. The medal appears to have been mounted on a plaque, as a hard glue residue remains on the back, along with masking tape used for a previous collectors tag. An interesting group. Please refer to the photos for condition and detail.
