Description: This is a very nice U.S. World War II Air Medal in its black leatherette presentation case that is in excellent condition. The planchet is nicely struck and with nice bronze finish that is now with an attractive light age toned patina. It is mounted on its original ribbon, which is undamaged, strong, and with excellent color. It is suspended from its original WWII type slot broach with fully functional pin and catch assemblies. The black leatherette case contains both the pinback ribbon bar and the lapel pin. The outer lid of the case is titled, “AIR MEDAL” in gold leaf. The interior is clean and undamaged with the exterior of the case exhibiting some light handling and storage marks. Excellent and undamaged. 9149
