This model Senko-Ei was introduced in early 2022 with unique and revolutionary design. Yu himself described the curved spine shape “sexy” when he spoke to me. This particular handle fitted at Kurosaki Uchihamono is new to the US market. Natural Walnut with a beautiful white resin bolster or cap has a refreshing look and helps maintaining the sanitation. The blade was forged from famous SG2 high speed powder carbon stainless steel clad in softer stainless steel. SG2 is one of the hardest knife steel available today. It’s considered stainless, but it can rust if it’s left unclean for a long period of time. Please wash the knife after each use and dry completely. This knife is fitted with the Japanese octagonal handle made of Walnut with white resin bolster. This is an all round chef’s knife and designed to work on meat, fish and vegetables. If you want only one knife in your kitchen this is it! The knife comes with the original paper gift box. Important: This knife is hand made, and there may be some imperfection as to the appearance. Also the size may be slightly off from this photo. Maintenance: Just wash the knife and handle with soap and sponge, rinse and dry. If you store it for an extended time, use of oil is necessary to prevent the rust on blade. Warning: Never wash in the dish washer! Warning: The blade is very hard and razor sharp, however, it is also brittle as with most of other Japanese knives.
